National Daily Minimum Wage of Ghana in 2021 has increased to GHS12.53 which reflects 6% over 2020 minimum wage.
This was agreed upon and published by the National Tripartite Committee ( Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, Ghana Employers Association(GEA), and Trade Union Congress(TUC)) on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
The Committee on June 3, held a meeting to negotiate over the determination of the National Daily Minimum Wage(NDMW).
After its meeting, the 2020 National Daily Minimum Wage which was determined at GHS11.82 sees a 6%(GHS12.53) rise in 2021 NDMW.
Also, the 2022 National Daily Minimum Wage will increase to GHS13.53 (8% rise) over yet to be implemented 2021 NDMW, GHS12.53.
Meanwhile, the 2021 National Daily Minimum Wage will take effect tomorrow, June 4, 2021.
The 2022 National Daily Minimum Wage will be implemented on January 1, 2022.
The Committee, therefore, cautioned organisations and institutions to go according to the new NDMW.
