NCA shuts down 49 tv stations for operating illegally

The National Communications Authority has shut down 49 television stations in the country for operating illegaly.

According to a statement by the Authority the stations were operating without authorisation hence the decision to shut down their operations.

Some of the stations include Ice TV, Power TV, Thunder TV, Cash TV and Agya Kofabae TV.

The move by the NCA comes at a time when there is pressure on the authority and the National Media Commission to clamp down on ritualists who have taken over a number of television stations in the country.
