The National Council for Curriculum Assessment (NaCCA) has revealed some unapproved Textbooks being used in some primary schools in the country.
The Council listed three books as part of this category. They include “History of Ghana for Basic 6”, “Golden English Basic 4” and “History of Ghana Textbook 3”.
The first two books published by the Golden Publications, carry content described as “distasteful, discriminatory and inappropriate”.
The third and lastly listed educational material published by Badu Nkansah Publications, made unfitting statements about the Ewe ethnic groups.
A press release signed by NaCCA Acting Director-General, John Mensah Anang noted that the aforementioned books contradict the council’s Book submission Guidelines and Approval Methodology.
In an earlier letter to the publishing house, NaCCA directed them to immediately withdraw all materials seen as offensive from the Ghanaian market.
