This follows concerns raised by the Audit Service Board regarding the retirement age of Mr. Domelevo and his nationality.
The Audit Service Board in a letter addressed to Mr. Domelevo a day prior to his return to work on March 3, 2021 from a 167-day compulsory leave, stated that he (Domelevo) was due for retirement June 1, 2020.
They went on to challenge Mr. Domelevo’s nationality, claiming that he is not a Ghanaian as evident in documents available to the Board.
Wading into the matter, President Akufo-Addo in a letter signed by his Secretary, Nana Asante Bediatuo retired Mr. Domelevo and directed Mr. Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu to continue to act as Auditor-General until a substantive Auditor-General is appointed.
He posted the lyrics of the song on his Facebook timeline as seen below:
“Now thank we all our God
With hearts and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things hath done,
In whom his earth rejoices;
Who, from our mothers’ arms,
Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours today.”
