Residents of the Ekumfi district in the Central Region have accused their Member of Parliament (MP), Honorable Abeiku Crentsil for failing to fulfill his borehole promise.
According to the habitants of the constituency, the Member of Parliament assured them that his outfit will spearhead the construction of a borehole in the area to drag a long experienced acute shortage of water to an end.
However, months following his election as the legislator to represent the Ekumfi district in Parliament, residents say the project has not started.
“We don’t get water to do our household chores, so we are appealing to the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi Constituency, Abeiku Crentsil and the District Chief Executive, Benard Bright Grant to attend to our water crisis as soon as possible,” a resident who gave his name as Fred said.
A cross section of them stated that all attempts to reach Honorable Abeiku Crentsil have proven futile.
“As at now they have not heard from him [Honorable Abeiku Crentsil], he is not even answering our calls as compared to about 5 Months ago when he was Campaigning,” Fred added.
Residents of the community further expressed worries about the water shortage. According to them, only one PolyTank serves the entire community.
They explained that the crisis could lead to sanitation issues in the area if the borehole is not drilled expeditiously.
