Lawyer Akoto Ampaw to represent Akufo Addo at Supreme Court; Tsikata and Lithur must be concerned

Many would expect a fierce legal argument launched from both sides of the petitioner and the second respondent in the John Mahama’s 2020 Election Petition in coming weeks.

A legal luminary at the Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co Chambers, Lawyer Akoto Ampaw has filed to represent the President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the petition filed by John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, in the quarters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the ‘right man’ to overpower the lawyers of John Mahama, whom per reports would be Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata and Tony Lithur, among others.

To many that had gotten to know Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, in 2017 during a time when President Nana Addo was considering the appointment of a Special Prosecutor, the former received some positive ratings and recommendations from the Civil Society and anti-corruption crusaders like Manasseh Azure Awuni.

His reputation in the legal and judiciary systems precedes him, one that cannot be discounted by his colleague Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata. His latest appointment in government granted him to serve on the Advisory Board of the Ministry of Justice.
