Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has promised a salt factory at Gomoa Nyanyano when he is re-elected as President in the 2020 elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer said, the factory will be a source of employment for the youth and also foster economic growth locally.
“The salt industry will be boosted in Gomoa Nyanyano. After we have set up the salt factory, it is the youth of this area who will get employment,” he assured.
On the first day of his Central Regional tour, the NDC flagbearer visited Gomoa Nyanyano and announced his salt factory establishment intention at a meeting with the fishermen and fishmongers.
Under the stewardship of the chief of fishermen, Mahama also promised to return the landing beach committees and allow them to work freely without any partiality or deliberation for any party alliance.
The Former President said he was positive for success in this year’s election in December and reaffirmed a commitment he made back in 2016, to build a community day secondary school for the people of Gomoa Nyanyano.
He also mentioned how the ruling government deserted the cold stores project initiated by the NDC administration when he was in power and further assured them the construction of better road networks leading to the community.
