The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku says the party will be on high alert to safeguard the general elections.
According to him, the NPP will keep an eye on the ballot boxes in the December polls to ensure a free and fair election.
“The NPP don’t want to be favoured in the polls, but the NPP will remain vigilant and ensure every ballot will be counted properly,” he said.
His comment comes as a response to remarks made by the former President, John Dramani Mahama who stated that he will not accept a flawed election following the anomalies noted in the recent voter registration exercise.
Speaking at a Teachers conference in the Volta Region, Mr Awuku added that the NPP party will also not submit to any form of intimidation or restriction in campaigning in any part of the country and implored those to be polling agents to be watchful in their duties in the polls.
“No region will be declared a no-go area in this united Ghana. Wherever we need to campaign I can assure you as a party member, we will campaign,” the NPP Youth Organiser stressed.
